From Tamatave (Madagascar), José−Marie is 8 years old when her parents decide to settle in Marseille. Since her earliest years, she takes refuge in reading and drawing. Later, her family moves to Aix-en-Provence. Then, after her marriage, she leaves the Province region for the Luberon, where she raises her two children.

The year 2000 is decisive for José−Marie. Her sister Patricia and her friends, conscious of her artistic talent, incite her to concentrate on painting. Gaining confidence in her capacities, she registers in an association where she follows painting lessons. There she meets Sylvio Usaï (Ecole des Beaux-Arts) who becomes her personal teacher.

José−Marie works with passion and pleasure so far as to receive an incentive diploma at the "Grand Prix du Luberon" in 2002 for one of her first canvas named "Amaria".

Always searching for new colours, José−Marie continues to improve in that field. "Le puits" receives a reward at the "Masters d'or" of the International Academy of Greci−Marino, then, in 2003, it is the turn of her painting, "Le Chinois", to receive a gold medal at the "Grand Prix International du Luberon".

Eager to learn new techniques, she also likes to create studies of great masters, particularly of Renoir and great Italian painters. Very demanding towards herself, she works during months to obtain the desired effect on each of her paintings. Her canvas give off a strong personal feeling. Life is what José-Marie paints, revealing a part of herself ... a part of ourselves.
